  • Thanks for your interest in serving as a CAMP COUNSELOR at
  • Teen Round-Up.  This application is to be completed by all applicants
  •  involving the supervision of minors.  We want to provide a safe and
  • secure environment for all children who attend our scheduled camps. 
  •  Each application MUST BE SIGNED by your PASTOR!  The
  • following is a brief listing of some vital information:
  • QUALIFICATIONS: We are looking for mature, Christians, who
  • have a genuine love for children.  The ability to work in harmony with
  • those whose views may be different from yours is a must for a counselor.

Counselor Guidelines

 Counselor - Gentle, Kind and Loving Servant

1. I will do my best to assign no more than 7 children to each counselor.

2. I ask all counselors to refrain from smoking or having on their

person any tobacco while at camp or using any words that are

considered by a Pastor as a bad word.

2. You are to be with your children at ALL times.

a) Line your children up behind you in the lunch line so you may

show them to your table.

b) Attend every event with them

c) Only one child in the restroom at a time. Counselors wait outside.

d) Sleep near them in the box-cars

e) Never let them go from box-car to barn without a counselor

d) NO double bunking unless (brothers or sisters)

e) Never hold a child on your lap or carry them on your back or

 shoulders at camp.

f) Never be in a room alone with a child for ANY reason. Always

 2 children or more.

G) YOU ARE TO MAKE SURE ALL CHILDREN IN YOUR

 DORM HAS A CHANCE TO TAKE A SHOWER EACH DAY.

2. During DEVOTIONS at camp:

a) Sit with your children.

b) Keep them from talking and acting up.

c) Interact during Devotion with your children.

d) During prayer time , talk with your children and let them

know you will pray with them if they want you to.

3. During Counselor and Child devotion time:

a) Have a topic to discuss. (kindness, love, friendship, etc)

b) Bring your Bible

c) Encourage your children to talk and communicate with you

d) This is a good time to tell children about the love of Jesus.

4. Discipline

a) There will be no harsh discipline at camp. (no NEGATIVE name calling!)

b) Do not grab the children by the neck, arm, shoulders or

anywhere else or shake them.

c) All unruly children will be taken immediately to the

Camp Peacekeeper

d) Each counselor will need to think up their own incentive for being good.

(1st shower, small prizes like piece of candy

(no gum or small hard candy please)

5. Absolutely NO rough-housing with campers.

Especially boys in dorms!!

a) Please NO scary stories at night. (talk about Heaven or positive subjects)

b) Remember to treat the boxcars with respect.

No slamming doors or kicking doors.

c) Remember Counselors get sent home for disobeying camp rules.

6. Counselor break

a). I will do my best to give all counselors a 1 hour break from

6:00 to 7:00 before the Tuesday evening service

( I will entertain the children in the barn)

b) This is a good time for you to take your shower.

Pizza is provided for counselors duing this time at the Depot.

Camp time can be an absolutely fulfilling of the Gospel

experience for each of you if it’s done with a servants heart.

Remember you may have to die to yourself several times

during the three days at Teen Round-UP.

May the good Lord richly bless you for your

dedication to HIM.

I have read the above guidelines and expectations

of working as a camp counselor for the free

summer camp program. I will volunteer my

 labor for the children and promise to abide by

 all the Teen Round-Up camp rules stated above.
